MAPPING A POTENTIAL SEED INVESTMENT
Situation: We face the worst global refugee crisis in history.
There are presently 65 million displaced people in the world and that number is growing. Every minute, 24 people around the world are forced to flee their homes. That’s 34,000 people a day who leave everything behind in the hope of finding safety and a better tomorrow according to Care.org
Globally, 2.7 billion women are legally restricted from having the same choice of jobs as men according to a ten-year study conducted by World Bank Group.
Opportunity: Morning Angel sees minority women leading the way to a brighter future.
Sixty-eight percent of Interpreters in the United States are women.
California presently employs the highest number of language interpreters and translators in the United States according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The 2017 US News and World Report listed "Interpreter and Translator" as the number one job in the Best Creative and Media Jobs category.
There is a shortage of trained and qualified interpreters.
Medical interpretation in the US is in a bind. In some places, one medical interpreter may see up to 35 patients during their 24/7 on-call shift. This, combined with the humanitarian crisis on the rise signals the growing need for certified language interpretation and translation services.
